Lake Don Pedro resident Janet Wilmeth reported that the area near the golf course, which totaled 133 homes, was without power even longer than other parts of the community. Their homes lost power on Wednesday at 12:06 pm and didn’t get it back on until Saturday at 2:45 pm.
“These 133 homes were victim to an equipment failure which wasn’t detected when the initial outage had power restored,” Wilmeth told the Foothill Express.
“People surrounding this grid got power returned the night before, but the indicated homes did not.”
When she called PG&E at 4 am, Wilmeth got a message that “the problem has been resolved and power restored.”
A further call to PGE’s 48-hour outage line gave the same message. Wilmeth informed them that there were still outages in her neighborhood, as outdoor lights in the area were still dark.
Further calls to PG&E from anxious neighbors affected by the continued outage gave conflicting reports of what was wrong and when power could be expected to be returned.
Several neighbors reported losses of significant amounts of food in refrigerators and freezers.
