June 15, 2009 – © Foothill Express
This year Don Pedro High School graduated its first senior class in the school’s new multi-purpose/gym. Pete Fogarty was the Master of Ceremonies. The evening started off with the Vietnam Veterans of America Color Guard salute to the flag and National Anthem. Juliane Berger wrote and sang a song for the senior class, which brought tears to the parents’ eyes. Guest speaker Travis Kirk spoke to the senior class about making good choices in life. Ron Howenstine spoke on behalf of Principal Mari Brabbin, encouraging the students to stay on the path of truth, ethically and morally, “and you will succeed in whatever life throws at you.” Salutatorian Pebbles Munoz stated to her classmates, “For every ending there is a new beginning, and for every memory there is a dream ahead.” Valedictorian Jennifer Rader spoke of the heroes, “But I see them right here among us. Make an inspiring contribution to others by being true to your values and committing yourselves to lofty goals.” Diplomas were handed out by honored guests Bryan Berger, Lillian Cravens, Charles Day, Dave Gookin and Ron Howenstine. Congratulations, Don Pedro High School Graduating Class of 2009: Serena Acierto, Allyson Faught, Christopher Haynes, Larry Heilman, Peggysue Johnson, Rafael Lopez, Elena McDermand, Pebbles Munoz, Jennifer Rader, Sarah Reeves and Shea Stygar. |
